Xiaomi 17 Ultra China Launch Date Announced, Design and Triple Camera Design Revealed

Xiaomi claims that the 17 Ultra is their thinnest Ultra model to yet.

The Xiaomi 17 Ultra will be available in China this week, the company revealed on Monday via social media. It is believed to be the successor of the Xiaomi 15 Ultra, the flagship model in the new Xiaomi 17 series. The China-based business has also shown the design of its future model. The Xiaomi 17 Ultra shares some design aspects with its predecessor, including a huge circular camera deco located centrally on the back panel.

Xiaomi 17 Ultra’s China Launch Date

Xiaomi stated on Weibo that the Xiaomi 17 Ultra will be released in China on December 25 at 7pm local time (4:30pm IST) during the Xiaomi x Leica Imaging Strategic Cooperation Upgrade event. While details remain unknown, the business teased the inclusion of a new simultaneous telephoto optical system and a “huge leap” in low-light shooting.

A teaser image showcases the Xiaomi 17 Ultra’s black and white color schemes. In terms of design, it appears to be very similar to the 15 Ultra, with the huge camera island taking up a lot of space in the back. The handset appears to have Leica branding inside the deco.

In a following video, the company revealed the first look at the Xiaomi 17 Ultra’s Starry Sky Green (translated from Chinese) colour choice. According to Xiaomi President Lu Weibing, it contains ore particles that resemble a starry sky. This variant is confirmed to have segmented and circular volume controls, similar to previous iPhone models, as well as a big R-angle 2D flat screen.

According to the official, the Xiaomi 17 Ultra is the company’s thinnest Ultra model to yet, measuring 8.29mm.

The first camera sample taken with the Xiaomi 17 Ultra showcases its capabilities. It took the photo with a low ISO of 64 and a shutter speed of 1/50 second. The sensor has an f/1.67 aperture.

The Xiaomi 17 Ultra will have a triple rear camera setup, including a 50-megapixel primary camera with a 1-inch OmniVision OV50X sensor and a Leica-branded 200-megapixel periscope telephoto sensor. More information on the Xiaomi 17 Ultra will become available as the launch date approaches on December 25.
