Did you miss the Amazon Prime Day deals back in July? Great news: the online retail giant has announcedthe dates for its Prime Big Deal Days sales event in Australia, and it’s sooner than we anticipated.
Just like Prime Day, this event will last 7 days, running from 12:01am on September 29 until 11:59pm on October 5, 2026, which lines up perfectly with the Labour Day (or King’s Birthday) long weekend if you’re in New South Wales, South Australia and the Australian Capital Territory. It’s also considerably longer than the Prime Big Deal Days event in the US, which runs for just 48 hours from October 6 to 7.
Amazon Australia is also running the event a week earlier than last year, when it took place from October 7 to 13, 2025. We believe this move is intended to give a little more breathing room before the Black Friday 2026 sales in late November, and also to account for the earlier Prime Day in July.
Since the Prime Big Deal Days sale serves as a teaser for Black Friday, the event typically doesn’t offer discounts as deep as those we usually see during Prime Day in July or Black Friday itself, but with the dates moving a week earlier, there’s still a chance we could see record-low prices on popular and premium tech.
We’ll be tracking prices on the best headphones, best tablets, best cameras and more, and we’ll cover the sale live when it kicks off in just over a week. So expect discounts on brands such as Apple, Samsung, Dyson, Breville and more, along with Amazon’s own product lineup like Kindle ereaders, Echo smart speakers and Ring video doorbells.
As with Prime Day, we expect the best prices to be reserved for Amazon Prime members, though a handful of offers will be available to everyone as well. If you’re interested but don’t yet have Prime, you can sign up for a 30-day free trial. Starting a subscription now will make you eligible to shop the upcoming deals, and you can cancel it right away afterward if you don’t want to keep paying.
Otherwise, remaining a Prime member after your free trial will cost AU$9.99 per month, or AU$79 for an annual membership. There’s also never been a better moment to be a Prime member, since Amazon Australia has expanded its same-day delivery service in Sydney and Melbourne with more items eligible for overnight delivery. Adelaide, the Central Coast, Newcastle, Geelong, Canberra and additional cities now offer same-day delivery too.
