China has seen the release of the Huawei Mate 80 Pro Max Wind Edition. The new model has an active cooling system and certain design changes over the basic Huawei Mate 80 Pro Max. Rather with a quad-camera system, the updated version includes a triple rear camera arrangement. For improved thermal performance during gaming, it features an integrated cooling fan. The Huawei Mate 80 Pro Max Wind Edition is essentially identical to the standard Mate 80 Pro Max, with the exception of the back camera unit and design modifications. It uses the Kirin 9030 Pro chipset and has a 6.9-inch AMOLED LTPO display. The 6,000mAh battery of the Huawei Mate 80 Pro Max Wind Edition is compatible with both 100W wired and 80W wireless charging.

Cost and Availability of the Huawei Mate 80 Pro Max Wind Edition

The 16GB+512GB RAM and storage variant of the Huawei Mate 80 Pro Max Wind Edition costs CNY 8,499 (about Rs. 1,15,200). The price of the 16GB+1TB RAM and storage version is CNY 9,499, or around Rs. 1,28,000. It comes in two colorways: Polar Day Gold (translated from Chinese) and Polar Night Black.

The Mate 80 Pro Max Wind Edition from Huawei

With a 6.9-inch full-HD+ (1,320×2,848 pixels) LTPO AMOLED display with 8,000 nits peak brightness, up to 120Hz adaptive refresh rate, 1,440Hz high-frequency PWM dimming, and 300Hz touch sampling rate, the dual-SIM (Nano) Huawei Mate 80 Pro Max Wind Edition runs HarmonyOS 6.0. The display has second-generation Kunlun glass protection with a pixel density of 455 pixels per inch.

The Huawei Mate 80 Pro Max’s internal components include a Kirin 9030 Pro CPU, 16GB of RAM, and 512GB of storage. In order to dissipate heat while gaming and live broadcasting, the device has a biomimetic wing-shaped turbofan. According to Huawei, the phone features ray tracing and 90 frames per second for a high-frame-rate experience that makes fighting easier. It uses Huawei’s HyperSpace Memory technology to virtually increase the amount of memory up to 20GB.

The triple rear camera unit of the Huawei Mate 80 Pro Max Wind Edition consists of a 50-megapixel RYYB sensor with variable f/1.4–f/4.0 aperture and OIS, a 40-megapixel RYYB ultrawide camera, a 50-megapixel macro telephoto RYYB camera with OIS, and Huawei’s second-generation red maple primary color camera.

The new phone supports 3D facial recognition and features a side-mounted display fingerprint scanner.

The Huawei Mate 80 Pro Max Wind Edition, like the standard model, has a 6,000mAh battery that supports both 80W wireless fast charging and 100W fast charging. Additionally, 18W wired reverse charging is supported by the battery.
