According to a Weibo post by tipster Digital Chat Station (translated from Chinese), the Oppo Find X9 Ultra‘s 200-megapixel primary camera has a bigger sensor and a higher light intake than one-inch-class sensors. The forthcoming handset is expected to sport dual periscope telephoto sensors.
The first is said to be a 200-megapixel periscope mid-telephoto capable of providing lossless-quality zoom. Meanwhile, the second sensor is said to be a 50-megapixel ultra-telephoto with 10x optical zoom. According to the tipster, this configuration is “incredibly aggressive,” with all three lenses working together to give lossless and high-quality focal lengths.
The 50-megapixel ultra-telephoto sensor is expected to feature a native focal range of up to 230mm, which can be extended to 460mm while maintaining high-quality zoom. While the Oppo Find X9 Ultra has yet to make its appearance, the tipster has named it the “Reigning King of Photography”.
According to prior reports, the 200-megapixel periscope telephoto lens could be the brand-new Sony LYTIA 901, which was presented by the Japanese firm in November. It is the company’s first 200-megapixel picture sensor for cellphones, using a 1/1.12-type large-format design and 0.7-micron pixels.
The fourth camera on the Oppo Find X9 Ultra is expected to be a 50-megapixel ultra-wide-angle lens. The forthcoming handset may include a 50-megapixel front-facing camera for selfies and video chats.
According to recent sources, the Oppo Find X9 Ultra may feature a 6.8-inch 2K LTPO OLED display. Unlike the Find X9 and Find X9 Pro, which employ the MediaTek Dimensity 9500 chipset, the Ultra variant may be powered by the Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 chipset.
