The smartphone firm hinted the arrival of the OnePlus Turbo series at its 12th anniversary celebration.
OnePlus has recently announced that it would shortly introduce its new OnePlus Turbo series in China, which will include “gaming-focused” handsets. While the company has yet to publish details about the next phones, such as major characteristics, features, launch dates, and prices, one of the new OnePlus Turbo models has been posted on a benchmarking platform. The benchmark item indicates the presence of an octa-core Snapdragon processor. Furthermore, it could come with the latest version of Google’s Android operating system and up to 16GB of RAM.
OnePlus Turbo Specifications & Features (Expected)
In a post on X, tech blogger Anvin (@ZionAnvin) discloses that a OnePlus smartphone, model number PLU110, has been added to the Geekbench benchmarking platform. The listing reveals the future handset’s chipset, performance, operating system, and RAM. According to the message, the model number refers to the new OnePlus Turbo, which is set to ship in China soon.
According to the screenshot posted by the tech blogger, the OnePlus Turbo would be powered by an octa core ARMv8 CPU, which is believed to be a Snapdragon 8s Gen 4 SoC. It is shown to have one prime core clocked at 3.21GHz, three performance cores, four efficiency cores, and an Adreno 825 GPU.
The listing states that the phone has 14.81GB of RAM, which might be advertised as 16GB. The OnePlus Turbo may run on Android 16. He further said that the handset would be released in China in January of next year. More information about the phone is likely to appear online in the following days.
This comes shortly after OnePlus China President Li Jie Louis announced on Weibo that the OnePlus Turbo series is currently being developed. Its release was also teased at the tech company’s 12th anniversary celebration. The corporate official said that the new portfolio will be gaming-focused. However, the essential characteristics, features, pricing, and debut date remain unknown.
The OnePlus Turbo was earlier rumored to be released as the OnePlus Ace 6 Turbo. The handset is claimed to have a 9,000mAh battery. The phone is expected to include a 6.78-inch LTPS OLED display with 1.5K resolution and a screen refresh rate of up to 144Hz or 165Hz.
