Kuo stated in a recent postthat manufacturing difficulties had caused the development of the foldable iPhone to lag behind prior projections. Early-stage yield problems and production ramp-up challenges could postpone seamless shipments until 2027, he continued. Because of this, even though demand is expected to be high, Apple may have limited supply and product shortages through at least the end of 2026.
According to Kuo, Apple is probably going to make an announcement about the foldable iPhone on schedule, but it might be difficult to ship it in big quantities. He likened the situation to the initial iPhone X launch, in which production limitations caused the product to be released later than anticipated. The foldable iPhone might only be available to some customers in late 2026 or early 2027.
