On Tuesday, OpenAI revealed ChatGPT’s Your Year in Review feature. It is a customized year-in-review experience for the app that draws attention to the recurrent themes from users’ interactions with the artificial intelligence (AI) chatbot over the course of the year. It was inspired by Spotify Wrapped. All ChatGPT customers, regardless of their membership tier, may use the function, which is now restricted to a few markets and only available in English.
Note: According to a statement from the firm, it is also being made available to ChatGPT Go, Plus, and Pro customers throughout the nation.
Your ChatGPT Year
Your Year With ChatGPT is an optional feature that shows how users engaged with the AI chatbot in 2025, according to OpenAI. According to reports, the function highlights high-level topics from chats and provides summary data about their usage over the year.
Users’ researched subjects, commonly asked questions, and search trends are summarized. Quirky prizes are given to users based on their participation.
According to the firm, reference stored memory and reference chat history capabilities must be enabled in order to use Your Year With ChatGPT, since it uses both to compile conversational insights. Additionally, they have to reach a minimum activity requirement. The functionality will only provide basic conversation statistics if there is very little activity. Finally, users should make sure they are using the most recent version of the ChatGPT app on iOS or Android.
According to OpenAI, the functionality will appear automatically in the ChatGPT app as a banner on the home page. As an alternative, users may choose the Your Year with ChatGPT option from the list by tapping the plus icon, which will provide a summary of the year. This summary may be shared on social media and is provided in a card-like fashion.
The app’s Free, Plus, and Pro users may access Your Year With ChatGPT. According to OpenAI, it is being implemented in the US, Australia, Canada, New Zealand, and the UK.
