According to BSNL, VoWiFi is free for its customers and aids in reducing network congestion.
On Thursday, Bharat Sanchar Nigam Limited (BSNL) announced the Voice over Wi-Fi (VoWiFi) service’s national implementation for all Indian telecom circles. With this action, the state-owned telecom service provider (TSP) has overtaken private companies that have long provided VoWiFi access, such as Airtel and Jio. This technology provides improved connection in difficult circumstances by enabling users to send and receive voice calls and texts via Wi-Fi.
India’s VoWiFi Service from BSNL
All BSNL users in all Indian telecom circles may now use the VoWiFi service, commonly called Wi-Fi Calling. According to a press release from BSNL, its national launch represents a significant milestone in the telecom operator’s network modernization initiative.
VoWiFi is reported to be helpful in isolated and rural locations with poor cell service. Additionally, it enhances connection in places like houses, businesses, basements, and isolated areas with poor cell signal strength. To make and receive voice calls and texts, the technology makes use of a reliable Wi-Fi connection, such as BSNL Bharat Fibre and other internet services.
